Like Paris, some Italian cities have many monuments and museums that should be on your short list of places to visit.
In Florence, the Firenze Card is available and works similar to the Paris Pass but not nearly as organized. You may find yourself wondering where to enter as a card holder, as we found two years ago. At the Uffizi, we eventually realized that we had to go to the gift shop to get this process started, but there were no signs indicating such. Also, the lines to enter may be longer. I recently read that things are more organized. if you are going only to a couple of museums then you may be better off not getting the card from a cost standpoint, but if really want to focus on the several places – the Duomo, Accademia, Uffizi, and more – then the cost savings will work in your favor. For my wife and I, it is the time saved by skipping the ticket lines that make it worth it regardless of cost.
The statue of David at the Accademia can have a long snaking line that slowly goes past it, and cameras are not allowed. Take time to inspect this treasure allowing that memory be something you keep forever.
