If you don’t like food, Paris may not be your cup of tea…or macaron for that matter.
Certainly there is amazing food here, but it’s also the atmosphere and locations that make eating in Paris such a treat.
Below are some of the places we visited.
Two landmark cafes to eat, relax and people watch:
- Cafe de Flore
- Les deux Magots
More formal dining:
- Brasserie Lipp
- Le Grand Colbert
- L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon (Saint-Germain) – an amazing dining experience where you sit at a bar facing the open kitchen. Reservations are a must.
Don’t forget the street markets! Get some fresh air and fresh food, like the street market on Rue Cler.
Macarons! I’m a nut for these treats and eat way too many every time my wife and I visit Paris. They’re all good but especially:
- Laduree – good macarons in an fairytale styled shop
- Pierre Hermes – perhaps the best
- Dalloyau – we loved all that we ate here!
- Cafe Angelinas – come for the macarons but stay for their decadent hot chocolate. This place is expensive but worth the experience and a perfect place on a cold January day.
You can stop by food stands/restaurants where you walk up and order an open-face baguette when you want to satisfy your hunger and keep moving on your exploration of the city, or have a casual lunch in one of the many parks.
